My Definition Of A Writer
“Let’s get out of here,” she said. The two got in the car and kept on driving. Fin. Smiling to himself, the author finally gets to stretch after hours of rapid typing. The author has devoted so much time and effort on this tale, it had practically become part of them. In a way, he felt sad that it was over, but he was glad he had written it. The story's characters are not just concepts and ideas to the author but an extension of their artistic vision. The person behind this piece is not someone who simply puts words on a dead tree. They think about their stories meanings and go through multiple drafts just to get it right. They must work hard and hope that someone out in the world will love this work that they put so much effort in. They are the creative individuals who worked hard to create their art. That is what the difference is between somebody who writes and a writer is.
When I was young, even before I could read, I loved stories. My relatives would always read them to me and I would think they were great. I think I was just starting school when I began to think about the people who behind the adventures of my favorite characters. I think it was that cartoon show Arthur where they had live- action bits with the book's creator. After that I thought about how all these things I like were made by somebody.
I’ve always, had a lot of ideas flowing through my head but I never had an outlet for them. I finally, found this outlet through writing and have looked at others work to help me improve my ability. I started paying more attention to not just the piece but the technique that the storyteller uses to weave the story. I’ve learned that a writer will not just hand in a first draft and send it to print. A writer needs to take in constructive criticism if they want people to like their stories and not pick apart their grammar mistakes.
Writers are people who deeply care about their art and fans.
One of the great things about modern day communication is that it so easy to get in touch with people all around the planet. A person can be a genius but not likable as a person. Good writers will get in touch with their fans and answers their questions. They should take in fan input since they would be nothing without them. However a good writer knows that they can’t let other people dictate their story. Sometimes beloved characters need to die for the stories sake.
All and all, the most important trait a writer needs is to write what they love. As this essay has shown there is a lot that goes into making someone an author. They have a lot going on in their minds and sometimes it’s frustrating. Sometimes, you just want to be a malevolent god and destroy the world you created. But those times aren’t why we write. We write because we enjoy it. We do what we do so that we and others who enjoy what we do can be happy. That is what an author is.
